For weeks there I was posting twice a week, then nothing...
Somewhere in there I must have turned 40 and gotten tired. Ha! In actuality I've just been busy. I actually have two paying animation jobs on the table and have been working on those. I also went back to work at the school today. Classes start next Monday and I'll be division chair for the Visual and Performing Arts Department. Today's session was primarily for us D.C.'s, and the above sketches were done during the morning session.
This is the man who will be helping us develop more equity in our department. I really enjoyed his presentation, his style and the spirit of where he's taking us. I also found his features intriguing as an artist. The sketches don't really do him justice. I was focusing on how his appearance and postures and gesture seem to symbolize his character--cerebral, aware, active, passionate. His head and cranium gave me the cerebral thing. Something about his hands and the punctuation they create drew my attention there and got my pencil out. I have another drawing of him at work that I may add tomorrow. Excited to keep working with him.
